HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT IN 2017!

As of January 1, 2017, built homes must be more effectively isolated. Thanks to the use of PIR boards we will incur significantly less energy loss and our homes will be more energy efficient. ROOF THERMAL INSULATION - LOWER LAMBDA FACTOR AND LOWER STRUCTURE WEIGHT = LOW COSTS

termPIR® boards feature a low lambda factor of 0.022 W / mK, which allows the use of a thinner layer of insulation which results in a larger surface area. Such effects will not be obtained using traditional materials such as polystyrene foam which lambda factor is about λ ≈ 0.035 or mineral wool (λ ≈ 0.040).

Another important feature of PIR panels is the low load on the roof structure. Thanks to the lower density of insulation, we have a huge impact on the mechanical load of the roof slopes, which allows us to reduce their load capacity.

Thanks to the above described thermal and mechanical properties of the termPIR boards, we can use them in the over-rafter system. The thermal insulation board is mounted on rafters, which almost eliminates the thermal bridges in the roof structure. This is a great importance for the energy efficiency, long-term performance of the partition and the requirements of building physics. FLOOR INSULATION

Please note that the floor is one of the elements of the building that we do only once. The lack of adequate insulation of our floor significantly increases energy consumption. An adequately isolated floor provides a basis for comfort in the use of the building. The main advantage of PIR panels used in floors is that they are non-absorbent compared to polystyrene and in contrast do not oxidize themselves. WALL INSULATION

It is only when we examine the whole life cycle of the material that will allow us to know the costs of its production, exploitation and disposal. This evaluation also allows us to compare the costs of using another material. In spite of the higher price of PIR plates than for example mineral wool, the use of polyurethane boards results in a 3.3% cost reduction in the three-layer walls. This is a serious economic argument just for the use of PIR plates. Replacing traditional materials such as wool or polystyrene with an insulating PIR panel of the same thickness allows up to 70% higher thermal insulation. To achieve the same U-value using 25 centimeters of traditional insulation, only 15cm of PIR is required! Here are some examples of how to install:

RESISTANCE TO FUNGI AND RODENTS

Another positive contribution to the thermal insulation of our boards is the lack of biological enemies. As you know all popular building insulation materials have their "enemy destroyer":

  • martens
  • mices
  • rats
  • mosses
  • algaes
  • lichens

Their metabolism can completely destroy and significantly reduce the durability of insulation materials such as very popular materials such as polystyrene or mineral wool. This usually leads to the replacement of the whole heat insulating layer.

Important features of PIR panels are:

  • Weather resistance due to low water absorption of less than 2%
  • High degree of resistance and compressive strength - more than 12 tons m2, which leaves the traditional insulating materials almost up to 300%
  • termPIR® boards have very high fire resistance parameters. In the case of roofs, they provide fire resistance at REI level 30 - at the time of fire the insulation cools and thus creates an additional protective layer.

PIR insulating boards significantly reduce the cost of heating your home. They are characterized by high thermal insulation, which significantly reduces maintenance costs and is also a good solution for people who care about the efficient execution of construction works, because their assembly is all year round and much easier. Their popularity is also due to the increasingly stringent requirements of energy efficiency.

RECYCLING

As soon as we know insulation boards are very stable and durable, so they retain their properties until the end of the building's vitality. After demolition they may even be reused. Waste after disposal is a valuable raw material for the production of new products.
